POSITION SUMMARY
Position Purpose: The Finance Controller is a full-time position responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of Providence Park. This individual will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls while supporting strategic financial planning in collaboration with the CFO and CEO.
Position Overview: The Finance Controller oversees budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and grant compliance. They will work closely with department leads to ensure responsible stewardship of funds and alignment with Providence Park’s mission and goals.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Maintain and monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy, prevent fraud, and safeguard organizational assets.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Support the development and monitoring of operating and program budgets.
- Assist with financial forecasting and cost-benefit analysis for strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and financial reporting obligations.
- Collaborate with department directors to track expenditures and ensure proper fund utilization.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and organizational assets.
- Assist with audit preparation and serve as liaison to external auditors.
- Review and approve financial transactions in accordance with internal policies.
- Support the CFO in developing financial policies and procedures.
- Provide financial data and insights to the CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit financial management or accounting.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting standards and grant compliance.
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
- Proven ability to manage financial operations and lead a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Computer/Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Experience with accounting software and cloud-based financial systems.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and SharePoint preferred.
Communication Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
Language: Fluency in English is required.

- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Demands:
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
- This position may require sitting for long periods of office work, standing, bending, and reaching.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
